GrowUp reads the land, ranks suitable species, generates planting systems, sizes editable irrigation networks and estimates long-term water and costs.

Data sources

Climate, solar, wind and elevation come from Open-Meteo, with Google Elevation as a fallback. Soil chemistry is ISRIC SoilGrids. Bedrock depth is the ISRIC/Shangguan model. Groundwater context is BGR/UNESCO WHYMAP. Vegetation and water indices are Copernicus Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-1 via Microsoft Planetary Computer, corroborated by ESA WorldCover, Impact Observatory land cover and the Copernicus woody vegetation layer. Maps use Google satellite and optional Esri World Imagery. Place search uses Nominatim first, then Google Geocoding. NASA GIBS and FIRMS add dated landscape context and do not replace Sentinel, SoilGrids or Open-Meteo. Fire operations display the EFFIS Fire Weather Index. Species taxonomy uses Switchboard 4.0 and GlobUNT; envelopes cite FAO ECOCROP, EUFORGEN and Plants of the World Online. Planning costs start from the Sicilian agriculture price book. GrowUp supports planning; field surveys remain required.
